Emails being issued now - Post Vote Renewal – UK Parliamentary Elections

  • A recent change in legislation has meant that all postal vote arrangements for UK Parliamentary Elections must be renewed no later than 3 years from application.

  • Emails are being sent to those electors who are due to renew by January 2026 to allow them to make their application now.

  • We envisage that the demand to renew around the deadline of January 2026 will be very high therefore we wish to allow people where possible to do this early.

  • Where possible we are contacting electors by email first as this is the most cost-effective method.

  • If you receive an email and are concerned that it is not genuine, please contact this office and one of the team can check this for you.

Phishing email asking for documentary evidence

We have been made aware by the Association of Electoral Administrators that some electors within the UK have received a phishing email asking for documentary evidence to process their register to vote application.

The phishing emails are being sent from electoral @ register-to-vote.electoral.agency, however similar email addresses may also be used.

The emails mimic a request for documentary evidence, asking the recipient to provide documents to verify their address and identity, such as a passport.

If you receive an email and are concerned this may be a phishing email,  please do not hesitate to contact us and we can check to verify if this is authentic.
