Who we are
Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board is an independent public authority that was established by The Valuation Joint Boards (Scotland) Order 1995.
What we do
Provide a professional valuation and electoral registration service for the Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire & Inverclyde Council areas in respect of compilation and maintenance of the Valuation Rolls, Valuation (Council Tax) Lists and Registers of Electors.
To provide high quality, effective and responsive services to all of our stakeholders.
Who are we looking for
You will assist in the survey and valuation of all lands and heritages in a designated geographical area for the purposes of the Lands Valuation Acts and the Local Government Finance Act 1992. You will assist a valuer in maintaining a portfolio of survey work under appropriate supervision. You will assist in maintaining all property files to an appropriate standard by writing survey reports, drawing plans and calculating areas under appropriate supervision. You will have a basis understanding of non-domestic rating and council tax. You will have effective communication and IT skills. You will have a positive, professional and responsible attitude and the ability to multi-task, while ensuring strict deadlines are achieved. You will have the ability to work as part of a team or individually.
You will have the necessary qualifications to gain entry to and work towards achieving a BSc in Construction and the Build Environment Degree Course or equivalent.
A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes is essential for this role.
